Terms of Use

1. Who this is for

Auria is for licensed nurses. By creating an account you are telling us that you are a licensed nurse, that you are 18 or over, and that the license you list is genuinely yours and in good standing.

These terms are an agreement between you and Auria. Using the platform means accepting them.

2. What Auria is, and what it is not

Auria is a directory. You build a profile, you list what you can be booked for, and people who are looking for a nurse can find you.

Auria is not your employer, not an agency, not a staffing service, and not a party to any work you agree to do. When someone books you, the arrangement is between you and them. We are not in it.

We do not guarantee bookings or income. Nobody honestly can. Being listed is an opportunity to be found, not a promise that you will be.

Nothing on Auria is medical advice, legal advice, or a clinical recommendation, and nothing here creates a nurse-patient relationship.

3. Your license and your credentials

You are responsible for what your profile says about you. Everything on it must be true, current, and yours.

We do not verify credentials today, and we would rather say that plainly than let it be assumed. We check that a profile is coherent and appropriate before it goes public. That is not the same as confirming a license with a board, and you should not represent it as though it were.

If your license lapses, is restricted, or is disciplined, take your profile down and tell us. Leaving a public profile up that says you hold a license you no longer hold is a serious matter, and it is grounds for us to remove you.

4. Your profile, and who owns it

What you write and the photographs you upload are yours. You keep them.

You give us permission to show them on Auria and in search results, for as long as your profile is public. That permission is only for running the platform: we do not use your photograph in advertising, and we do not sell your content.

Only upload photographs you have the right to use. Do not put a patient in one, ever, whatever consent you believe you have.

5. Confidentiality, and the line you must not cross

Never put patient information on Auria. Not in your biography, not in a service listing, not in a photograph, not in an example of your work, and not in a way you believe is anonymised. Your professional obligations do not stop at our front door, and a profile is a public document.

The same goes for your employer's confidential information.

6. What you agree not to do

• Claim credentials, licenses or experience you do not have.
• Impersonate anyone, or build a profile for somebody else without them.
• Offer anything unlawful, or anything you are not licensed to offer.
• Harass anyone, or use Auria to contact people who do not want it.
• Scrape, copy or republish the directory or other nurses' profiles.
• Attempt to reach data that is not yours, or interfere with the platform.

7. Reviewing profiles

Someone reads every profile before it goes public, and reads changes to a profile that is already public. That usually takes two to three business days.

While a change is waiting, your profile stays up and the public sees the last version we approved. You are not taken offline for editing.

8. Removing a profile

We can take a profile off the public site. Two ways:

Taking it down. Your profile returns to a draft. You can correct whatever the problem was and send it again. This is what we use when something needs fixing.

Suspending it. Your profile returns to a draft and you cannot publish again until we lift it. This is what we use for a breach of these terms.

We record a reason every time, and that record cannot be edited afterwards. If we remove your profile you may ask us why, and we will tell you.

9. What you can do at any time

• Edit your profile.
• Take it down, and put it back up.
• Download everything we hold about you, as one file.
• Close your account.
• Ask us to erase your personal information.

Closing your account is not the same as erasing your information, and the Privacy Policy explains exactly what survives each one and why.

10. Fees

Holding a profile on Auria is free today. If that ever changes, we will tell you before it affects you, and we will not start charging for something you already have without asking.

Auria does not process payments between you and a client, and does not take a share of what you are paid.

11. Where the platform stands today

Auria is early. Things will change, occasionally break, and sometimes be missing. We provide it as it is, without a warranty that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the extent the law allows, Auria is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost income or lost opportunities, arising from your use of the platform.

Nothing here limits anything that cannot lawfully be limited.

12. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we update the date at the top. If a change affects what you agreed to, we will ask you to agree again rather than treating your old answer as covering new wording.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
